How is gaming different at C.O.Я.E?
When we discuss gaming in the tech circuit, we don't only refer to mainstream games in the esports community or those typically enjoyed in our free time. We also emphasize the arcade games in our browsers without knowing about them.
To be considered a good gamer in the tech circuit, you must be able to tackle any game they throw at you. Being decent at variety of games is way better than being exceptional at a singular one. This versatility can enhance your adaptability and flexibility in handling different gaming scenarios, ultimately offering you a more enriching gaming experience.
What do I need to have to pursue gaming?
Gaming competitions are mostly conducted on either Consoles or PCs
- Console: To participate, you require at least a PlayStation 4 (PS4). Any console older and other than the PS4 won’t work.
- Gaming PCs: While newer-gen gaming PCs are preferred, to participate in major events, You NEED to have the experience of playing on a lower-end PC (i.e. having issues like lag, high ping, etc.) as the schools usually do not have the system capable enough as yours. Blaming the lag there isn’t an option.
What games should I focus on?
Since you can’t be sure what games are going to be there in the competitions, it's beneficial to concentrate on the various aspects of gaming to ensure your success.
Different types of games:
- Shooter Games: Most of the time, the games given involve shooting, so you must have an exceptionally good aim and a basic awareness of the mechanics used in these types of games so that even if you are playing the given game for the first time, you still have an edge over the other participants.

There are two types of shooter games you need to focus on:
- FPS (First Person Shooter): To get better at FPS games, it is highly recommended to focus on the major games like:
PC: VALORANT, Counter Strike Global Offensive( CS:GO)/CS2, Call Of Duty, **Apex Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, etc.**
CONSOLE: Call of Duty (COD) and Paladins.
- TPS (Third Person Shooter): These games are recommended for this category:
PC: Halo, PUBG and Fortnite CONSOLE: Fortnite and PUBG.
- Web Browser Games: While this category may not appear important, it is especially crucial for PC competitions. These are the games which are present all over your internet browser. Most major events have browser games in at least one round, and sometimes finals too! It tests not only your skills but also your resilience in addressing any challenges presented to you.
